The NFL’s greatest-of-all-time debate has been reignited, this time by one of the league’s most respected defensive stars as Von Miller claims it’s not the seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady.
The veteran is now entering his 14th NFL season and is already catching the headlines ahead of the 2025/26 campaign with his snub of the New England Patriots legend and Tampa Bay Buccaneers icon.
Instead, he gave the title to his former Denver Broncos teammate, Peyton Manning, who won two rings of his own, became Super Bowl XLI MVP and passed for 539 touchdowns.
Whilst Brady’s resume eclipses Manning’s with seven Super Bowl championships, five Super Bowl MVP awards, and nearly every significant passing milestone, which is why he’s regarded as the NFL GOAT.
For most analysts and fans, those achievements cement his legacy as football’s ultimate winner. Miller, however, believes greatness extends beyond trophies and reveals why he ranks Peyton higher than Tom.
“Obviously, there’s gonna be a debate between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who was the best,” Miller said on the Glory Daze. “For me, it’ll always be Peyton Manning.
“He changed the quarterback position (in terms of) changing the play. He wasn’t scrambling or doing none of that stuff. He did it all with his arm. And it was beautiful, man.”
So the Washington Commanders’ pass rusher argued that Manning’s cerebral approach to the position made him stand apart from his peers across his time with the Indianapolis Colts (1998-2011) and Broncos (2012-2015).
To be fair, Peyton has a claim. His statistical dominance strengthens Miller’s argument as he’s the only five-time NFL MVP, and he also set the single-season record with 5477 passing yards and 55 touchdowns in 2013.
While Brady owned an 11-6 record in their head-to-head meetings, Manning claimed three of their five postseason duels so that gives him a slender edge when it comes to the NFL Playoffs.
Ultimately, both quarterbacks left enduring legacies with multiple teams, but Miller emphasized that Peyton’s mastery of pre-snap reads and audibles reshaped how the position is played.
Brad’s flirting with a fellow journalist goes viral
Brady may be retired from the NFL, but he continues to capture headlines in unexpected ways as during a virtual ESPN meeting, the seven-time Super Bowl champion caused a lighthearted stir when he complimented a reporter’s hair.
“I love your hair,” Tom quipped, prompting an unplanned moment that quickly spread across social media after he drew a surprised laugh and visible blush from the journalist.
The interaction was brief but immediately went viral, with fans highlighting it as another example of Brady’s effortless charm as he remains a single pringle following his split from Gisele Bundchen in 2022.
For many, the clip demonstrated how Brady’s charisma resonates just as strongly off the field as his football achievements once did as even without touchdowns or trophies, Brady remains a master at commanding attention.
