Vanessa Bryant, the widow of Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, fondly remembered her daughter Gianna‘s 19th birthday.

Using her official Instagram account, the mother of four shared this Thursday, May 1, a photo of “Gigi” wearing her basketball uniform and accompanied her post with a loving message:

“Happy birthday, Gigi! Mommy loves and misses you more than I could ever express. I love you Gianna. 19. 5/1 #Mambacita” wrote Vanessa accompanied by emojis of hearts.

In the post, which already has more than 375 thousand “likes” including the official NBA account, several users and followers also remembered Gianna’s birthday and left their message. “Sweet Angel GiGi we love you”, “Sending love on this special day. Happy Birthday Gigi,” they wrote.

“Gigi would have loved to be there with you.”

After UConn Huskies beat South Carolina Gamecocks to become NCAA champions last month, Vanessa remembered Gianna on her Instagram stories and wrote: “Gigi would’ve loved being there with you. ‘When you think you can’t, UCONN’ – Gianna Bryant.”

Gigi was a big Huskies fan and the college loved her dearly. When she Gianna and her father, Kobe Bryant, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020, UConn paid tribute to her with her No. 2 jersey and a bouquet of flowers wrapped in blue and white ribbons.

The tribute was shared on X and they wrote: “Mambacita will be a Husky forever.”
