TheSpotify Camp Nou received a visit from several UEFA officials this morning to assess the viability of the new stadium for the Champions League.
The problem is that Barcelona has not yet received the green light from the City Council to have the first occupancy permit to open the stadium to fans
The Blaugrana club will have to inform UEFA of the stadium in which it will play the group stage and the four home matches must be in the same venue, so it seems that it will end up playing at Montjuic. It would be from the round of 16 if it qualifies when it would play in the new stadium
Barca wanted to play the first Champions League match away from their stadium (September 16-18), but it did not have the UEFA’s approval and, moreover, it seems impossible that it can meet the demands of the European governing body.
