In reality, boxing fans never expected Tyson Fury to actually stay retired. The Gypsy King has floated around the idea of retirement in the past, only to come back and fight when the right opportunity presented itself. Following a second-consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury called it quits, but now he’s getting ready for a return, possibly for a trilogy fight against the Ukrainian.

Fury has practically confirmed he will return in April of 2026 to face Usyk once again. While Fury has been training hard to stay in shape in “retirement”, Usyk is preparing to square off against the dangerous Daniel Dubois on his home turf this weekend. With the undisputed heavyweight belts on the line, Usyk must be sharp and in tip-top shape to fight the younger Dubois. There’s no doubts about either of those things for the 38-year-old, as he looks to be in quite possibly the best shape of his life. Fury might want to pay attention.

Oleksandr Usyk looks 28, not 38 days before Daniel Dubois fight

The DAZN Boxing account shared a video of Usyk mere days before the Dubois bout, and everyone was stunned at how physically optimal Usyk looks at the moment.

To be fair to Fury, he also looks to be in relatively great shape as he stays active before his next fight. But it’s incredible how well Usyk takes care of his body as he gets closer to reaching age 40. If Usyk discards Dubois, that will set up a third undisputed title fight against Fury.

Even if Dubois does beat Usyk, it wouldn’t surprise to see Usyk and Fury battle it out anyway. Or Fury could look the other direction and try to go after Dubois. A lot will be decided on July 19.
