The Thunder are one game away from becoming NBA champions, leading 3-4 in the finals against the Indiana Pacers after winning Game 5 120-109. This result prompted Oklahoma fans to mock the father of Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton.

The Pacers, who lost the game by 11 points to OKC at the Paycom Center last Monday, are now on the verge of losing the entire series once again. After the game, Oklahoma fans surrounded John Halliburton, Tyrese’s father, and began mocking him, who was wearing his son’s jersey.

Tyrese Halliburton’s Father Confronted Giannis Antetokounmpo

It’s important to note that this wasn’t the first time Halliburton’s father has had a basketball passion issue. Earlier in the NBA Playoffs, he had a direct confrontation with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after Indiana eliminated Milwaukee in the first round.

John came onto the court and waved a towel in celebration before butting heads with the former MVP Antetokounmpo called John’s actions “very disrespectful,” while John Sr. apologized.

What did Indiana star Tyrese Halliburton have to say about his father’s actions?

Tyrese even criticized his father’s actions: “He should let me play basketball and stay there, and I’ll go with him and celebrate. But the emotions of the game got intense there. I talked to him. I’ll talk to Giannis about it. I don’t think my dad was right,” he opined.

With the 3-2 series in favor of the Oklahoma City Thunder heading back to Indianapolis, Tyrese’s health is the biggest unknown of the night. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the calf injury he suffered in Game 5.
