Tyreek Hill shifted focus to IShowSpeed after his planned race against Olympic champion Noah Lyles was canceled, publicly accusing the streamer of “ducking” him. In multiple social media posts, Hill declared: “Speed is the fastest streamer, but you still can’t beat me – stop ducking me, dawg. I live in Miami just like you… Let’s get this thing going!” He emphasized their shared Miami residency as grounds for an easy matchup.
IShowSpeed built his racing reputation through high-profile challenges. His dominant performance against Ashton Hall-a former Alcorn State 800-meter specialist-included taunting Hall post-race: “Get the f— out of here. That was embarrassing” after causing him to stumble. More impressively, Speed nearly edged Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles in a 50-meter exhibition, losing by just 0.08 seconds (5.93s vs. Lyles’ 5.85s) in a race organized by MrBeast.
Hill’s confidence stems from verified speed credentials:
- A 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the 2016 NFL Combine
- 23.34 mph top speed on-field (2016), still ranking third in the NFL in 2024 at 22.01 mph
- A 10.15-second 100-meter dash in June 2025-his first official track race since 2014 79.
- Analysts project Hill’s 50-meter time at ~5.80 seconds based on his 100m splits, theoretically outpacing Speed’s 5.93s against Lyles
This intensified when ex-NFL QB Robert Griffin III-whom Speed defeated-claimed he could train Speed to beat Hill. Hill dismissed this, comparing Speed to Jake Paul fighting “washed-up athletes” and mocking Griffin’s relevance: “RG3 isn’t the elite athlete he used to be… Speed’s on his ‘Jake Paul tour'”.
For Hill, a win would cement his “Cheetah” legacy beyond football. For Speed, defeating an NFL star would validate his athletic brand. Critics argue Speed avoids Hill because he’d “get dusted,” ending his “crazy athleticism” narrative.
Despite mutual challenges dating to August 2024-when Speed showed up at Dolphins practice but Hill refused to race-logistics remain unresolved. Hill insists Speed is “always in Estonia or random locations” avoiding him. Fans urge a charity showdown, possibly for $100K as Hill previously proposed
