With a 6-9 record, four consecutive losses, and eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs are facing one of their worst seasons.
However, amid the chaos, the team’s tight end, Travis Kelce, has managed to maintain his numbers and set a new record.
Kelce adds a new milestone to his career
Travis is currently playing his 13th season in his professional career in the NFL and with the Kansas City Chiefs and has accumulated a total of 12,954 receiving yards.
In the current 2025 NFL season, he has 803 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games played. However, the team highlighted Kelce’s performance in achieving more than 800 receiving yards in 12 consecutive seasons.
“Over a decade of dominance for @tkelce,” they wrote on the official X account alongside a bow and arrow emoji. They also reported that Travis is tied with Jerry Rice as the players with the most seasons with +800 receiving yards.
Fans quickly showed their love and support in the comments:
“12 seasons of dominance. He was in his ‘800-yard Era’ before Eras were even a thing,” said one of them. “I hope he comes back one more year-even in a year when people say he’s ‘slowing down,’ he’s still one of the most dominant TEs in the league,” commented a follower. “Incomparable,” simply expressed a third fan.
This achievement comes after he led the voting and became one of four Chiefs players to make the Pro Bowl this year, along with defensive tackle Chris Jones, guard Trey Smith, and center Creed Humphrey. This is the 11th time (and consecutively) that Kelce will be there.
Meanwhile, on Friday, December 26, Kelce and the Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos (12-3) at Arrowhead Stadium, and on Sunday, January 4, they will close out the season at Allegiant Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-13).
