Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce revealed the dream life swap in a candid conversation with his brother Jason Kelce.
During the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce responded to a fan’s question about which podcast guest he would love to swap lives with for 48 hours.
Travis Kelce did not hesitate to choose LeBron James
Without hesitation, he chose James, expressing his fascination with the idea of playing in the NBA. “My answer is LeBron James because I want to play in the NBA,” Kelce said. “I’ve always wanted to play in the NBA.”
Kelce never hid his love for basketball. Born and raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Kelce was a passionate Cleveland Cavaliers fan and his dream of playing in the NBA dates back to his childhood.
“It was a dream I had as a child and I would love to know what that dream really feels like,” Kelce explained.
“To be able to jump as high as possible and dunk the ball as hard as possible, I would also love to know what it feels like,” he continued.
According to The Athletic, Kelce even intended to play both football and basketball at the University of Cincinnati, although his football career ended up being the focus.
In 2021, Kelce joked about his brief stint in basketball at UC: “I never saw the court. I practiced a couple of times and played some summer games.”
Kelce’s playful desire to trade lives with LeBron James is a reminder that even the most outstanding athletes have dreams that go beyond their own sport. For Kelce, stepping into James’ shoes, if only for 48 hours, would be the ultimate experience.
