Travis Kelce‘s thirteenth NFL season is officially in the books, and it closed without the ending Kansas City Chiefs is used to.

A 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders ended the Chiefs‘ year and snapped a playoff streak that stretched back more than a decade, immediately turning attention toward what comes next for their longtime tight end.

Just days later, Travis Kelce reemerged in a familiar setting. On Tuesday night, he and his brother, Jason Kelce, revealed the next guest on their New Heights podcast.

This would be the first episode recorded since Kansas City‘s season ended, and it arrives with Kelce‘s future very much undecided. The guest is Academy Award winner Matt Damon, adding a dose of star power to a moment already heavy with curiosity.

Kelce has been careful with his words since Sunday’s loss. Asked about retirement, he has stuck to the same message: there will be a right time and place for that decision. For now, he isn’t offering hints, timelines, or guarantees.

That restraint has only fueled speculation as fans wait to see whether the four-time All-Pro plans to return or quietly step away.

A podcast that has become a crossroads

New Heights has evolved into more than a weekly conversation between two brothers. Last year, Kelce used the show to announce he was coming back for another season, turning the podcast into an unlikely stage for career-defining news.

That history lingers as this week’s episode approaches, even if no announcement is promised.

As usual, Jason Kelce handled the introduction, leaning into his larger-than-life delivery while Travis played the role of hype man. Damon, clearly amused by the football-style theatrics, embraced the moment.

“That was awesome,” Damon said. “I feel like I should run out of the locker room and go hit somebody.”

Whether Wednesday’s episode includes personal clarity or simply offers conversation and perspective, the context is impossible to ignore.

The postseason will move forward without them. And Kelce, now facing an offseason without playoff football, has time to reflect in a way he hasn’t in years.
