Travis Kelce has revealed this week that life with Taylor Swift has come with one very real side effect, and it has nothing to do with football.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end joked that his fiancée’s love of baking has led to some extra weight, enough to cause a minor household mishap that he was more than happy to laugh about publicly.
Kelce made the admission while appearing on Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, opening the segment with his trademark humor.

“Hi, I’m Travis Kelce, Kylie Kelce‘s brother-in-law,” said Travis Kelce, referencing the podcast’s host, who is married to his older brother, Jason Kelce.
“And I’m not gonna lie. I broke Taylor’s chair with the weight I gained from her sourdough.”
The comment drew instant laughter from Kylie Kelce, who summed it up in one line. “That’s true love,” she said.
Kelce did not stop there. Rather than framing it as a complaint, he leaned into the joke, adding that Swift‘s homemade bread is actually good for him. He insisted the sourdough promotes “good gut health,” turning the moment into an affectionate nod to his fiancée as the conversation drifted into playful banter.
The exchange felt natural because Swift‘s enthusiasm for baking is already well known. Over recent months, sourdough has become one of her signature off-stage interests.
In early January, the 36-year-old singer even shared the results of that hobby with friends, gifting homemade loaves to several people in her circle, including the Haim sisters Este Haim, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim, as well as musician Sombr.
A familiar joke rooted in Swift’s kitchen routine
Kelce‘s comments also echoed a conversation fans have heard before. In August 2025, Taylor Swift made a rare appearance on New Heights, the podcast Travis hosts alongside his brother, offering a glimpse into her life at home just days before the couple announced their engagement.
During that episode, Swift poked fun at her own interests. “I’d say all my hobbies could be categorized as, like, hobbies you could have had in the 1700s, you know? Like, I get all my granny s—,” she joked.
She went on to explain that her passions tend to come in phases. Swift said she develops “a different baking obsession every six months,” a comment that prompted Kelce to respond without hesitation: “I am the luckiest man in the world.”
“We’re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life,” Swift admitted. “The sourdough’s taken over my life in a huge way. I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now.”
