When writing the story of the 2024 college football season, the Ohio State Buckeyes will have to be front and center. Galvanized after a brutal loss to Michigan, Ryan Day‘s team rallied and took out everyone in their path on the road to another national title. But if there’s one player who defined the season as a whole, it was Travis Hunter.

A truly unique player given his ability to dominate on both sides of the ball while barely missing any snaps, Hunter led Colorado to a great season for the school and capped it off with the Heisman Trophy. Many football analysts are still unsure if he will be a full-time wide receiver or cornerback in the NFL, or if he’ll do both, but he’s fully expected to go within the first four picks of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hunter has mentioned in the past the only NFL team he’d really love to play for is the Denver Broncos, simply because he loves Colorado, but that won’t be possible. And he’s aware of the uncertainty of his future, as he detailed on his most recent podcast episode.

Every day it gets closer to the next day, the next step in life. You can’t predict where you’re gonna be. I can’t predict where I’m gonna be. I don’t know where I’m gonna be.

Will the Cleveland Browns pass on quarterbacks to draft Travis Hunter?

While Hunter might not know where he’ll end up, plenty of mock drafts seem to think he’s heading to the Cleveland Browns. Noted draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. explains why the Browns could pass on QB for Hunter in his latest mock draft.

“But I think Cleveland is more likely to address another hole here and find QB reinforcements in free agency and/or later in the draft. Plus, Hunter is just that good. I see elite quickness and ball skills on both sides of the ball… The Browns would likely use him primarily at receiver and then sprinkle him in at cornerback in specific situations.”

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports also has Hunter going second overall to Cleveland, claiming that “Cleveland is not going to force its position at quarterback“. That very well could be how it plays out on draft night.
