With high expectations and a new face at the helm, the Tennessee Titans are embarking on a new era in their history. Cam Ward, a quarterback out of the University of Miami, was selected as the first overall pick in the 2025 Draft, and is now preparing to take his first steps as a professional in rookie minicamp. His arrival has generated excitement both inside the locker room and among fans, who see him as a figure capable of leading the team in the coming years.

During his distinguished college career, Ward accumulated more than 4,300 passing yards and 39 touchdowns in just 13 games, becoming a Heisman Trophy finalist and Davey O’Brien Award winner. His athletic profile and focused mentality have been praised by coach Brian Callahan, who sees him as a key piece in building a new project in Nashville. The young quarterback, for his part, has pointed out that the transition to the Titans’ offensive system will be smooth, thanks to the similarities with the scheme he ran in Miami.

When does the Tennessee Titans Rookie Minicamp start?

The rookie minicamp will take place on May 9 and 10 at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park. Although the event is mostly private, on Saturday the 10th it will be partially open to the press between 12:45 and 13:45, during which time Cam Ward and other draft picks will attend the media. It will be the first official look for the coaching staff and journalists at the performance of the rookie group, including the promising quarterback.

This minicamp is part of the development program approved by the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, which allows each club to hold an initial two-day camp for its new players immediately after the Draft. Subsequently, the rookies will be able to integrate into the seven-week development program that begins May 12, with no weekend activities, but with a focus on physical, tactical and mental adaptation.

What to expect from the start of the Cam Ward era

Although the practices will not be open to the public, fans will be able to follow the development of the camp through the Titans’ official platforms. The focus will be on how Ward adapts to the professional pace and how he begins to establish chemistry with his teammates. It will also be key to observe the evolution of other selected prospects, especially those who could contribute immediately to the team.

The minicamp will be the first step in a broader agenda that includes organized team activities (OTA) between May 27 and June 5, and the mandatory veteran minicamp from June 10 to 12. Throughout this period, Ward will have the opportunity to compete, learn and begin to establish himself as a locker room leader under the watchful eye of the coaching staff and management.
