Tiger Woods returns on Tuesday with Jupiter Links GC, a team made up of his compatriots Max Homa and Kevin Kisner, and South Korea’s Tom Kim, to play the final of the TGL League against Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC).Woods, who has been working with his team as an advisor, returns to the line-up for the simulator tournament for the second game and will play again if they manage to force a third.

The American, who turned 50 in December, has been out of action since 2024 after rupturing his Achilles tendon and undergoing his seventh back operation. The last time Woods played in a full golf tournament was when he missed the cut at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland, although in February he left the door open to participate in the next Masters at Augusta, the ‘first’ major of the season, which will take place in April.

Asked last week if he will play in the Masters, Woods replied: “I already said I’m working on it. (…) The disc replacement surgery is not exactly fun (…). I’ve had a lot of surgeries before that, so the body doesn’t recover as well as when I was 24 years old. It doesn’t recover at all. So I have good days where I can do pretty much anything and other days where I struggle to even move.”

The TGL League final

The West Coast team is made up of Americans Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala, along with Englishmen Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood.

On Monday, LAGC defeated Jupiter Links 6-5 in the first game of the best-of-three title series, after Theegala scored two decisive points on the “Stone & Steeple” hole, giving them a 1-0 lead.

The winner of the duel will replace reigning champion Atlanta Drive GC, who won the inaugural TGL final against New York Golf Club last year, but fell in the semi-finals after losing to LAGC this season.
