Ste Wallwork’s debut in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) ended with an image that is hard to forget. Only two rounds had passed in his fight against Leigh Cohoon when the British fighter’s face showed the consequences of the blows he had taken.
The swelling was concentrated especially on the right side of his face and became so pronounced that the medical staff decided to intervene. Wallwork was examined between rounds and was not cleared to come out for the third round.

Wallwork, known as “The Spartan”, faced Cohoon in a middleweight bout during BKFC 94, held at the AO Arena in Manchester. It was his first appearance in the organization.
Cohoon managed to connect repeatedly during the first two rounds. At the end of the second, the difference in his rival’s face was evident: his cheekbone and the right jaw area showed enormous swelling
The ringside doctor examined Wallwork before the start of the third round and determined that he could not continue. As a result, the fight officially ended with a technical knockout victory for Leigh Cohoon, recorded at the end of the second round.
The images taken after the fight showed the extent of the swelling and quickly drew attention throughout the event. For the moment, however, there is no official medical report confirming a fractured jaw, cheekbone, or any other specific injury, so the exact extent of the damage has not been publicly determined.
Ste Wallwork’s experience before his brutal fight in BKFC
Wallwork was not a stranger to bare-knuckle boxing. The Brit arrived at the event with a previous 2-1 record on the circuit, according to Bare Knuckle Heroes, although the Manchester card represented his first appearance under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) banner.
BKFC is an American organization that has held regulated bare-knuckle boxing events since 2018 and has gained greater international exposure in recent years. One of the names behind that growth is Conor McGregor, who became a co-owner of the company in 2024 and has served as one of its main promotional figures.
On the other side was Leigh Cohoon, nicknamed “The Boom”, who managed to land repeatedly on Wallwork during the first two rounds. His victory in Manchester allowed him to improve his BKFC record to four wins and one loss.
The fight opened the main card of BKFC 94, an event whose main attraction was the showdown between two names well known to UFC fans: Darren Till and Yoel Romero.
