Wednesday, September 10, 2025, will go down in history as one of the saddest days, after Charlie Kirkwas shot and killed while attending an event of his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah. Kirk was the founder and leader of the conservative movement Turning Point USA (TPUSA).

Statements condemning the attack came swiftly. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called it a “political assassination,” and both Republicans and Democrats denounced the act, calling for “peace” immediately.

Charlie Kirk was 31 years old and a conservative political activist, closely associated with former President Donald Trump. At age 18, he helped create Turning Point USA, an organization aimed at engaging young students in defending principles such as personal freedom and free-market economics, among others.

The New York Yankees send a message

The sports community in the United States has rallied in response to the tragedy, expressing support during this cruel situation. Several athletes, including New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, have offered their condolences and solidarity.

As for teams, the New York Yankees observed a moment of silence during their game against the Detroit Tigers and posted the following message on social media:
