The NFL Draft in Green Bay will have an air of suspense-not because of the talent available, as this year’s prospects have been heavily questioned and lack big-name stars-but it will be interesting to see how things unfold on April 24.

In the last two weeks, betting houses have indicated that the New York Giants are expected to take Penn State’s standout defender, Abdul Carter. The team wants to build a defense that becomes one of the most feared in the NFL, alongside Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, and Carter. As for Kayvon Thibodeaux, there’s talk that the team is exploring trade options for him-he’s been a major disappointment.

The Giants are indeed going for a quarterback

Since the middle of last season, after Daniel Jones’ collapse, it was clear that the Giants would be in the market for a quarterback to try to right the ship. They were even favorites to draft Shedeur Sanders. However, with the offseason signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, they’ve practically closed the door on the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback.

Still, recent reports-just one week before the Draft-suggest that New York is looking for a quarterback to deepen the position, and the object of desire for Brian Daboll and company is Jaxson Dart.

Landing Jaxson Dart will be very difficult

The problem for the Giants is that Dart’s value has surged in the days leading up to the Draft. NFL insider Jordan Schultz has stated that the Ole Miss quarterback won’t drop out of the first round. The Giants have the third pick of the second round, so they would need to make a trade in order to get him.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are also reportedly looking for a quarterback in case Aaron Rodgers doesn’t sign before the Draft. With the 21st pick in the first round, they’re one of the favorites to draft Jaxson Dart, though the New Orleans Saints could also be in the mix.
