Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are set to open 1587 Prime, a modern steakhouse that blends culinary excellence with subtle football-themed design.

Scheduled to open in early 2025, the restaurant will occupy nearly 10,000 square feet over two floors within the Loews Kansas City Hotel.

A stadium-inspired dining experience

Designed by the Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, 1587 Prime offers a unique dining atmosphere reminiscent of a football stadium. Guests will enter through a tunnel-like corridor leading to a host stand and a 10-foot-wide refrigerated meat display.

The main dining area features brass markers on the floor, mimicking football field yard lines, and red marbling on tabletops as a nod to the Chiefs’ team colors. Artwork throughout the space includes deconstructed footballs, further celebrating the sport.

In terms of seating, along with the regular restaurant setting, there will also be a central bar located on the first floor with seating for 20, a private dining room that can seat up to 18 and a semi-private dining room with seating for up to 40 people.

The restaurant’s name, 1587 Prime, combines the jersey numbers of Mahomes (15) and Kelce (87), reflecting their partnership both on and off the field. Their involvement in the project is hands-on, with Mahomes noting that their frequent visits to Noble 33 restaurants in other cities inspired them to bring a distinctive dining experience to Kansas City.

While the full menu has yet to be revealed, the restaurant is expected to feature a cutting-edge chef’s kitchen and an extensive wine collection, one of the largest in the state. Kelce has hinted at including Mahomes’ favorite condiment, ketchup, in the menu, adding a personal touch to the offerings.

1587 Prime aims to be more than just a place to dine; it seeks to be a community hub where locals can gather and enjoy a premier culinary experience. With its innovative design and the personal involvement of two of Kansas City’s most beloved athletes, the steakhouse is poised to become a landmark destination in the heart of the city.
