LeBron James, who the night before scored 30 points in 33 minutes against the Pelicans, did not play the game against the San Antonio Spurs due to physical problems.

The Lakers announced an hour and a half before the game against San Antonio that their 41-year-old star, who after the game in New Orleans already warned that he would consider playing back-to-back games, suffers from arthritis in the left foot joint and sciatica.

Much of the blame for LeBron James’ decline lies in his awakening the next morning

JJ Redick

“His absence is due to his injuries. He usually has a sore foot after a game. So that’s the main thing. I spoke to him today in the dining room. We were hoping that he would get to the point where he could play two games in a row with his physique. But in this stretch and this month, it’s going to be hard to say. We hope he will be available, but much of the blame lies with his waking up the next morning,” explained JJ Redick.

LeBron James’ physical problems at 41 years of age this NBA season

James missed the first 14 games of the season due to sciatica affecting his lower back and right leg, and since his return has yet to play in both of the Lakers’ back-to-back games.

Why could LeBron James be declared ineligible to win the NBA’s season awards?

After missing the game against the San Antonio Spurs, the legendary LeBron James is on the verge of not being eligible for any awards this season in the NBA for not playing a minimum of 65 games.

LeBron James, who is 41 years old and has been named to an All-NBA team for 21 consecutive seasons, will be ineligible for NBA awards if he misses one more game (so far he has missed 17).

Last season LeBron James was selected to the second All-NBA team and finished sixth in MVP voting, playing 70 games and averaging 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 34.9 minutes per night.

This season, his production has fallen to 21.7 points per game, 5.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
