There’s no doubt that the New England Patriots have been a pleasant surprise this season and have become a real threat in the AFC. With another standout performance from Drake Maye, the Patriots dominated the Tennessee Titans 31-13, continuing to lead the AFC East.

In his second year, Drake Maye is solidifying his status as one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks. Against the Titans, the North Carolina product completed 21 of 23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 62 yards. Kayshon Boutte and Austin Hooper were the receivers who scored the touchdowns.

The Patriots’ defense is also performing at the highest level. K’Lavon Chaisson recovered a fumble by rookie Cam Ward for a touchdown, and Marcus Jones intercepted a pass. With this victory, the Patriots have now won four games in a row and appear to be on track for the playoffs.

Drake Maye breaks a Tom Brady record

It’s never easy to carry the pressure of being Tom Brady’s successor, a quarterback who won six Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. That pressure was once placed on Mac Jones, who, despite not being entirely at fault, faced immense scrutiny during his time as the Patriots’ quarterback.

Now, the responsibility rests on Drake Maye’s shoulders. He showed flashes of his talent in his rookie season, and now, in his second year, he is proving why he was a first-round draft pick. Maye is performing spectacularly.

In the game against the Tennessee Titans, Maye set a franchise record for the highest single-game completion percentage with a minimum of 20 pass attempts. The North Carolina quarterback completed 21 of 23 passes, achieving an incredible 91.3% – something never before seen in Patriots history.

The Patriots, with a 5-2 record, sit atop the AFC East, ahead of the Buffalo Bills. Next week, they have another chance to secure a victory when they face the Cleveland Browns, who recently crushed the Miami Dolphins. Even so, New England will enter the matchup as the favorite.
