Bronny James and Cooper Flagg will face off tonight in Las Vegas in the highly anticipated Summer League opener. Although it is a summer game, an atmosphere worthy of a regular season game is anticipated, with the Thomas & Mack Center packed with NBA figures and personalities.

The excitement is enormous: on the one hand, LeBron James’ son; on the other, the player chosen as the number one pick in the 2025 Draft. This combination has driven ticket prices to unusual levels for an event of this nature. According to Vivid Seats, the average cost reaches $223, while the cheapest general admission tickets are around $84. On StubHub, the figures are similar, with a minimum of $86. For those looking to be in the front row, the outlay exceeds $3,000.

It’s not the first time that the Summer League has generated this kind of excitement. In 2023, Victor Wembanyama’s debut with the Spurs attracted comparable attention: the average ticket price for the game against the Hornets was $297. The phenomenon had already occurred in a similar way years earlier with Zion Williamson, when he made his debut with the Pelicans in 2019.

The competition will run until July 20, with all teams playing four initial games. The four with the best winning percentage will advance to the semi-finals on July 19, before the title showdown the following day.

This will be Bronny James’ third summer game, having already played in the California Classic Summer League (played before the Las Vegas Summer League). He scored 10 points in the Lakers’ win over Miami and only two against San Antonio. For Flagg, it will be his debut as a Dallas Mavericks player
