Kindred Lubeck is the 30-year-old jeweler behind Taylor Swift‘s engagement ring, co-designed with Travis Kelce, and she recently broke her silence following the global reaction to the stunning sparkler.

In an Instagram video, Lubeck looked back on her unlikely journey from a law-firm employee to designing one of the most talked-about rings of the year. She spoke candidly about proving doubters wrong-encapsulating a message many fans will find inspiring.

“My name is Kindred Lubeck. I’m 30 years old. I started making jewelry in the summer of 2019, I was 25,” she said, detailing how she found herself in the family trade almost by chance.

Raised by her father, master goldsmith Jay Lubeck, she began honing her craft during the pandemic and launched her own brand, Artifex Fine Jewelry, in 2023.

By 2024 she’d expanded into a New York City studio-building success from sheer determination. Lubeck highlighted that she achieved all this without any loans or donations-just hard work and dedication.

The importance of perseverance

“I believe that if someone says you can’t do something, you should prove them 110 percent wrong. I think when one door closes, you should kick the next one down. I think that if you have a dream, you should never, ever quit,” she declared, echoing the resilience that fuels many creatives’ journeys.

Lubeck concluded with a touching nod to Swift‘s fandom: “For those of you who’ve been with me since day one, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. And to those of you who are new, I’m enchanted to meet you.”

Her use of “enchanted”-a beloved lyric nod to Swift‘s catalogue-was met with warm applause from fans embracing her story of rising against the odds.

Kindred Lubeck’s message is more than just gratitude – it’s a reminder that success often blooms from unexpected beginnings.

Her journey, culminating in the creation of a ring as meaningful as the love it symbolizes, stands as proof that perseverance – and daring to dream – can lead to spectacular, unexpected moments.
