For the 2025-26 season, many expected the Curry brothers to take the NBA by storm with their talent and natural understanding on the court. However, reality has turned out to be very different from what the franchise and the fans had hoped to see.
This season has not been favorable for them to establish themselves as a dominant pair or even demonstrate that they could become one of the league’s most exciting duos. Nothing of the sort has happened. The main reason is that both players have spent most of the year dealing with injuries.
Unfortunately for Stephen and Seth Curry, physical setbacks have been the constant throughout the campaign. They have not managed to recover at the same time and share the court the way they once did as children. For now, both are focused primarily on their respective rehabilitation processes.
Six-game road trip for the Golden State Warriors
Starting this past Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Golden State Warriors began a road trip that will include six games. The journey started at Madison Square Garden, where they faced the New York Knicks.
Although they cannot play, the Curry brothers joined the team on the trip to travel alongside their teammates and provide moral support. The hope is that their presence can help boost the team’s spirit and perhaps contribute to securing victories during what will likely be a challenging stretch of games.
When asked directly by Reggie Miller of NBC Sports about how it feels to be on the same team as his brother, Steph did not hesitate to respond with a touch of humor about the frustrating situation they have both endured this season.
We’ve been the rehab brothers.
The comment reflected the physical problems both siblings have faced since Seth joined the Warriors. They have been unable to share the court because when one appears ready to return, the other is sidelined. Injuries have repeatedly prevented them from playing meaningful minutes together.
The injuries affecting the Curry brothers
Stephen has not played for Golden State since the end of January. He has been dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as runner’s knee, along with bone bruising in his right knee. So far, he has been sidelined for six weeks, and it appears that the recovery process could continue for a while longer.
Meanwhile, Seth has also struggled with health issues. A sciatic nerve problem kept him away from any realistic chance of returning to full fitness. Just when it seemed that he was ready to come back, a left adductor strain forced him to the sidelines once again.
As if that were not enough, veteran player Al Horford has also been dealing with physical problems. Injuries have prevented him from being at full strength as well. The experienced big man is currently suffering from a mild left calf strain.
Both players are expected to be reevaluated during the week that has just begun as the Warriors continue their road trip and hope to recover key pieces of their roster.
