The Kansas City Chiefs have been a completely dominant team in both their division (AFC West) and the AFC since 2018, competing in every championship game since then. The Patrick Mahomes-Andy Reid duo has been key to achieving this success, and everything suggests that nothing will change for 2025. However, much of this dominance relies on having a healthy team, as injuries can lead even the best team down a dark path.
Hollywood Brown’s injury could be disastrous
Losing one of their top wide receivers is far from good news for Mahomes. It’s clear that alarm bells ring when a veteran and talented player like Hollywood Brown misses training due to an injury. Fortunately for the Chiefs, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Brown avoided a serious injury and will return to practice, which is a relief since they cannot afford to lose targets for Mahomes.
With Rashee Rice as the team’s top receiver, the situation shifts as he faces an impending suspension and a 30-day jail sentence for his involvement in a multi-vehicle car accident in 2024. If Brown is absent, second-year player Xavier Worthy would need to step up as the primary wide receiver; but two are always better than one in a receiver room that also includes names like rookie Jalen Royals, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Skyy Moore.
Injuries could jeopardize the Chiefs at the start of the season, so they hope to have health and their full arsenal available to continue their dominance and aim for a fourth consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
