Next season, the Buffalo Bills are one of the top contenders in the AFC, but that’s the role they’ve had in recent years. However, the real objective is to break through in January, and that’s where Josh Allen has not been able to take the next big step.
Aside from his rookie season, Josh Allen has always carried the Bills, but they’ve repeatedly hit a wall-mainly in the form of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, who hold a 4-0 record against Allen in the playoffs and 2-0 in conference championship games. Mahomes has been the roadblock to the Bills’ success.
This season, the Buffalo Bills have no choice but to break through in the playoffs, which means reaching the Super Bowl, something they haven’t done since 1993. Josh Allen may be running out of opportunities, and 2025 cannot slip away.
The Bills will suffer a painful loss in 2025
The Buffalo Bills are the kings of the AFC East, and that’s no surprise. They’ve simply outworked everyone and been the best team in all facets of the game. But that’s no longer enough-the fans want a Super Bowl trip.
This year, betting on them to win the division is not a big risk; it’s very likely they’ll win it for a sixth consecutive season. They are also favorites in every single game according to the sportsbooks. However, Connor Orr of SI.com did an analysis and believes the Bills will lose one game this season-against the Carolina Panthers.
“If you look at the losses on the schedule, one in particular stands out: Carolina after the bye. For a team that can sometimes get in its own head, I wanted the Bills to suffer an absolutely inexplicable defeat when it was clear the team was already looking ahead to a much more consequential matchup against the 2024 conference champion Chiefs,” Orr explained.
So, it will be an interesting year for the Bills. Unless injuries or a major upset occur, the team will be in the playoffs-and there, they’ll most likely face the Chiefs, whom they must beat, no matter what.
