The boxing world was stunned this week when it was officially announced that Jake Paul will be facing Gervonta Davis in a boxing match in November. Paul’s callout of Davis and Anthony Joshua after his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was initially taken as a joke. But “Tank” ended up taking the bait.

It’s yet to be seen what exactly the fight will entail. As of right now, it’s being labeled as an exhibition match. That should allow for flexibility in terms of how much weight Davis can gain for the fight. There’s also the possibility of safeguards being put in place so Davis can’t potentially hurt Paul. The undercard will now begin being built, and it may get a star right off the bat.

Teofimo Lopez called out for “begging” to join Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis fight card

Teofimo Lopez, the current WBO light welterweight champion, has offered to be a part of the undercard for the event, somewhat losing focus of his expected next rival, Shakur Stevenson, in the process.

Fans weren’t particularly thrilled with Lopez “begging” to get on the card. Some took it as him avoiding Stevenson, while chasing money and not focusing on the right priorities.

Despite wanting to fight in an exhibition on the Paul-Davis card, Lopez still appears to be fully invested in the Stevenson bout. In fact, later in the day, he claimed he has already accepted the offer from Stevenson and will face him early in 2026.

Lopez had previously said they would fight in January. It seems like that’s the plan as of now, but until official confirmation filters in, fans won’t believe it’s set and done.
