Taylor Swift unexpectedly becomes part of Cavaliers’ playoff nightmare

The show Inside the NBA became a trending topic once again during halftime of Monday night’s game, when the TNT crew took advantage of the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ meltdown to launch a hilarious jab that quickly went viral on social media during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks.

The joke referenced Taylor Swift’s presence at one of Cleveland’s playoff games weeks earlier—an episode that became one of the most talked-about stories surrounding the franchise during the 2026 NBA Playoffs. However, with the Knicks dominating the matchup from start to finish, the TNT analysts used that imagery to ironize the Cavaliers’ poor performance.

The moment didn’t take long to multiply across social media, where Cleveland’s performance was already facing heavy criticism. Even Adam Schefter, the renowned ESPN insider, shared the image broadcast by TNT on his X account, while Charles Barkley publicly questioned the competitive intensity shown by the Cavaliers in a game that ended up being completely lopsided.

The defeat ultimately confirmed a definitive sweep by the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York squad imposed its authority with a 130-93 victory at Rocket Arena, sealing the series the fast way and extending their impressive postseason winning streak to eleven consecutive games.

In addition to securing their advancement, the victory represented a historic moment for the franchise. The New York Knicks will return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, putting an end to a 27-year wait thanks to a series in which they clearly dominated Cleveland in every aspect of the game.

For the Cavaliers, on the other hand, the outcome was especially painful. After overcoming two demanding seven-game series against the Toronto Raptors and the Detroit Pistons, the team found no answers to the physical intensity, defensive aggressiveness, and energy displayed by New York throughout the entire series.

The TNT mockery ended up becoming one of the most memorable images of the night, perfectly symbolizing a series in which the Knicks ran over Cleveland to fight for the NBA championship once again, nearly three decades later.
