Taylor Swift released “The Life of a Showgirl,” her twelfth studio album, on October 3. Although several of her songs caught people’s attention, “Wood” undoubtedly stole the show.

The hints and nods that the 14-time Grammy winner wrote in reference to her fiancé, Travis Kelce, did not go unnoticed by her fans or those of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Travis reacts to his new nickname

Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see. His love was the key that opened my thighs,” Taylor sings, and since the song became popular, Travis has been nicknamed Redwood.”

Even his brother and Eagles legend Jason Kelce joked with the TE about it on an episode of the “New Heights” podcast they both host: “I thought Redwood was a little bit-that’s a generous word… I think if somebody wrote a song about me, it’d be like, ‘Japanese maple, sometimes can see.'”

This new trend has led fans to customize a Kansas City jersey, but instead of the number 87 accompanied by the TE’s name, it reads “REDWOOD.”

At one point in the conversation, this new jersey came up, and Jason asked his younger brother about it: “How do we feel about this new trend? I mean, it works for the Chiefs.”

It does, baby. You know it, man. It works,” Travis responded, laughing at the fans’ ingenuity. “I haven’t seen that nameplate before, but it’s pretty good,” admitted Swift’s future husband.

The truth is that it seemed to bring him luck because Kelce and Kansas City managed to defeat their rivals and add a new victory against the Las Vegas Raiders by 31-0, improving their record to 4-3.

Now, “Redwood” and the Chiefs are preparing for their Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders on October 27 at home, where they will seek another victory and Travis will strive to increase his 31 receptions for 375 yards and two touchdowns.

Will they have the same luck, or should they knock on wood?
