Sophie Cunningham has no interest in being the center of attention for a public marriage proposal.

The Indiana Fever forward recently shared her candid thoughts on the topic, explaining that if anyone ever proposed to her at a game, it would end badly.

During the latest episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast with West Wilson, Cunningham brought up a viral moment from an Ole Miss football game where a fan unexpectedly proposed to his girlfriend on the field.

The stunt drew cheers from the crowd, and the woman said yes, but Cunningham wasn’t impressed.

“I swear, if anyone were to ever propose to me at any sporting event, I would punch them in the nose and I would leave,” she said.

“I think it’s gross. There’s no way in hell. If someone were to ever do that to me, actually, they wouldn’t do that because I wouldn’t be getting proposed to, cause they would know I would not want that.”

Cunningham’s single status and playful golf appearance

Back in May, Sophie Cunningham confirmed through TikTok that she is single.

That didn’t stop a few admirers from trying their luck at The Annika, a golf event in Florida, where some older fans pretended to be hit by her golf shot just to catch her attention and earn a hug.

The tournament also featured Caitlin Clark, who competed in The ANNIKA pro-am from November 13 to 16. Cunningham and teammate Lexie Hull joined as Clark‘s guest caddies and even took a few swings themselves.

Cunningham admitted golf isn’t her strong suit, and after one of her drives accidentally struck a couple of bystanders, she rushed over to make sure they were fine.

Luckily, everyone was laughing, and the forward turned the incident into a lighthearted moment, posing for selfies and signing jerseys to make up for the surprise shot.
