Without a chance to return to the courts this season with Indiana Fever, Sophie Cunningham has kept in touch with her fans through her social networks.

In addition, the 29-year-old point guard has sought a new alternative to share her opinion, her podcast “Show Me Something” that she hosts with West Wilson. And it was there where she talked about Indiana’s opponent in the Semifinals and focused on one of her players.

Sophie launches a strong message before Fever-Aces

Stephanie White’s team will face the Las Vegas Aces this Sunday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in a best-of-five series. After battling against Atlanta Dream and taking the series 2-1, Fever advanced to the WNBA semifinals for the first time since 2005.

Meanwhile, their rivals, the 2022 and 2023 WNBA champions, were riding a 17-game winning streak before Seattle Stormforced a third game last Tuesday.

Despite not being on the courts after suffering an unfortunate torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in her right knee and subsequent surgery in August, Sophie shared with fans her prediction for the game in Las Vegas, though she focused on one player in particular:

I think their best player [is] A’ja. One of our best players is AB [Aliyah Boston]. They both went to South Carolina. They’ll guard each other. The key to really stopping them is stopping A’ja,” Cunningham said. “I think the key matchup right there is AB and A’ja and it’s always been a freaking battle. They go at it.”

However, the Fever star also went beyond Wilson and highlighted the rest of the opposing team, such as Jackie Young: “We’re gonna have to watch her. They have a great point guard who’s a phenomenal freaking passer.”

Meanwhile, with their offensive power and solid defense, the Las Vegas Aces are one of the favorites to win the series. However, the Fever have made clear their ability to overcome any obstacle.

This season, the two teams have met three times, ending in two wins for the Fever and one win for the Aces. The first one was the only win for Aces by 89-81. Then, Indiana crushed the Becky Hammon-led Fever 81-54 and 80-70.
