Sophie Cunningham has earned the respect of fans at Indiana Fever. Her skills on the court and her good sense of humor have endeared her to the team’s fans in her first season with the team led by Stephanie White.
Still going through the first steps of her recovery after tearing the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in her right knee on August 17 and subsequent surgery, the 29-year-old point guard shares updates on her recovery with fans, but the latest one brought out several smiles.
Sophie surprises fans with her talent
With no chance of returning to the courts this season, Sophie has kept in touch with her followers through her official Instagram account.
Recently, the Fever star had starred in hilarious moments as she competed with Caitlin Clark (also out for the rest of the season with a groin injury) to show off her juggling skills.
Now, in a video shared in his stories, Cunningham showed off his improvement and three-ball skills. She also responded to fans who wondered “How do you know how to do that?“. Sophie’s response? “‘Cause I’m not an idiot.’” she jokingly wrote in the video.
The truth is that, in the meantime, Indiana has been hit hard by injuries and will go into the Playoffs with 6 less players. Sophie and Clark are joined by four other Indiana players who are out: Damiris Dantas, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson and Chloe Bibby.
While she continues to recover and prove that her talent is still intact, her teammates continue to fight to keep their Playoff spot after forcing a third game against Atlanta Dream after beating them 77-60 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
Next Thursday, September 18 at the Gateway Center, Indiana will play the third and final game of the series, where they will look to beat Dream and advance to the Playoff Semifinals.
