Amid swirling rumors that could push him down the 2025 NFL Draft board, Shedeur Sanders is opting out of the spotlight, choosing not to attend the event in Green Bay, where Miami’s Cam Ward is projected to claim the No. 1 overall pick.
NFL confirms Shedeur Sanders will skip the Draft
The NFL announced that Sanders is absent from the list of prospects attending the draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin-a group that includes many top talents but notably excludes the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback. For some, this fuels speculation about his sliding draft stock.
The decision catches many off guard, as Sanders was widely regarded as one of the top two quarterback prospects in this class, yet he won’t be present at the gala.
Other surprising absences include Penn State tight end Tyler Warren and Georgia pass rusher Jalon Walker.
Meanwhile, two-way star Travis Hunter, the cornerback/wide receiver projected to be among the top three picks, will attend, joined by Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward. Ole Miss‘ Jaxon Dart and Alabama‘s Jalen Milroe are also confirmed to be present on April 24.
Among the top prospects expected to hear their names called early in the NFL Draft are Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter, and Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham.
Joining them in Green Bay will be other elite talents, including Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons, Texas A&M defensive end Shemar Stewart, and Michigan cornerback Will Johnson.
