Shedeur Sanders has been making headlines since his arrival at the Cleveland Browns. And although this occasion is no exception, it is his behavior off the field that has brought him into the spotlight.

The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was fined earlier this week for speeding, reaching 101 MPH. As if that weren’t enough, he also failed to appear in court.

Although the consequences of this situation for Sanders off the field are unknown, his fine did not go down well with his fans, especially when he is fighting to secure his place in the team.

With veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, this situation could be detrimental to him, as it is not the first time his name has been involved in controversy.

A strong opinion that shakes Sanders

NFL analyst Colin Cowherd did not sugarcoat the situation either, taking a hard line against Sanders on his show “Herd with Colin Cowherd” and even reminding him who he was. “So yesterday, Shedeur Sanders got caught speeding over 100 miles an hour…. In the last couple of months, two things that really turned me off… That cringey, awful, legendary draft room,” the analyst began. Continuing his tirade against the 23-year-old quarterback, Cowherd said, “Bro, you’re a B prospect. Your dad is Prime Time, who led with his ego for years. You gotta have a little self-awareness. I had more than one GM say, total turnoff.”

However, far from stopping his tirade, Colin made it clear how dissatisfied and annoyed he was with Sanders’ behavior, comparing his speed to the number with which he was selected in the NFL Draft by the Browns: “I don’t think about him the same… Judgment is 50% of being a quarterback. When you fall to 144 in the draft and then try to match that number behind the wheel of a car. Yeah, I don’t think the same… I feel differently today. I’m not as high on him. I’m not sure he’s mature enough,” Cowherd concluded bluntly.

The truth is that this situation is unlikely to affect his role with the Cleveland Browns. However, Sanders’ situation after being fined is something that will unfold over time, so we will have to wait to see what the real impact of his actions will be, both on and off the field.
