With less than a week to go until the 2025 NFL Draft, betting on the fate of the various eligible players is beginning to intensify, and one of the most anticipated is that of the University of Colorado quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, will be one of more than 300 players available to make the leap to the NFL, and is one of the most interesting players in the Draft, not only because he is the son of the unforgettable “Prime Time”.

While Sanders is not expected to be among the top 10 overall picks, he is expected to be called by one of the 32 teams in the first round, although in a Draft anything is possible.

Some of the NFL expert analysts have the Colorado quarterback as the first overall pick in the draft, so his destination would be to play with the Tennessee Titans, who have that “privilege” for this year.

Shedeur Sanders could be heading to Pittsburgh

However, most pre-college recruitment analysis places Sanders with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the Rooney family organization preferring to have a medium- to long-term project, rather than acquiring a quick fix with the arrival of veteran Aaron Rodgers.

If Tennessee risks hiring Sanders, they would be passing up a better prospect in the form of the Miami University passer Cam Ward.

The Steelers have the 21st overall pick in the draft, and while it’s unlikely Sanders will have to wait 20 picks, the advantage for the Steelers is that other teams have some pressing needs before taking a passer.

For example, one of Sanders’ teammates at Colorado, Travis Hunter, a Heisman Trophy winner who can also play offense as a receiver or defense as a cornerback, is expected to be selected by the Cleveland Browns.

Other teams like the New York Jets need to raise the level of their offensive line, or the Dallas Cowboys, who are in urgent need of improving their depth, could opt for Shavon Revel Jr., especially as they do not want to put extra pressure on Dak Prescott by choosing a quarterback in the first round.

QB is Steelers’ priority in Draft

The Steelers are in need of a good passer, and hope not to make the same mistake with Kenny Pickett, who had just a few games as a starter after being selected in the first round.

Pittsburgh currently has Mason Rudolph and there has been much media speculation about the possible arrival of Rodgers, something that fans in Pittsburgh are totally against, not only because of the age of the passer, but also because they think that Rodgers could break the harmony of the team on and off the field.
