Shaquille O’Neal‘s son, Shaqir O’Neal, has made a six-figure luxury purchase that appears to have landed squarely on dad’s tab.
The 21-year-old forward, who plays college basketball and holds an estimated $815,000 NIL valuation, reportedly bought himself a brand-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, not with his own NIL earnings, but through his father’s account. And, in true O’Neal family fashion, the entire transaction unfolded over FaceTime.
According to Effortless Motors, the California-based luxury dealership that handled the sale, Shaqir didn’t waste any time making his choice. The company shared the story and a few receipts on Instagram, writing: “@shaqironeall knew exactly what he wanted – a new S-Class. One call to Effortless Motors, a quick tap on dad’s tab, and 24 hours later it’s up north. Smooth, fast, and effortless… just how it should be.”
During the exchange, dealership owner Daniel Ubario reportedly asked how much Shaqir was prepared to spend. That’s when the younger O’Neal casually responded, “Put it on my dad’s tab.”
When Ubario hesitated, wondering whether Shaquille would approve such an expensive impulse buy, Shaqir reassured him: “He not gonna trip.”
The order was a sleek S 580 model worth around $130,000. Within 24 hours, Effortless Motors delivered the luxury car to Sacramento, no questions asked.
Shaq’s surprise
Shaq had no idea his son had just dropped six figures in his name. According to the dealership, Ubario’s business partner later asked, “Did you even tell Shaq what’s going on?” – to which Ubario sheepishly replied, “No.”
It’s an especially funny twist, considering Shaquille O’Neal‘s long-running jokes about not fitting into most luxury cars unless they’re custom-built. Even if he wanted to take the S-Class for a spin, it’s unlikely he’d fit comfortably behind the wheel.
The story quickly made the rounds on social media, where Shaqir’s siblings joined in on the fun. His older brother, Shareef O’Neal, posted on his Instagram Story: “I’m bout to do the same WTH!” His sister Taahirah chimed in with a supportive, “YEAHHH QIR,” while Effortless Motors cheekily responded by offering their services to her as well.
The playful back-and-forth shows just how much the younger O’Neals have embraced their dad’s massive legacy and how they’re finding creative ways to test it.
