Bayern Munich defeated Real Madrid on Wednesday, April 16, and secured a spot in the Champions League semifinals after winning 4-3 (6-4 on aggregate) at the Allianz Arena. This has been a major blow to the Merengue fans, but a club legend sent a clear message.

Sergio Ramos, one of the most iconic defenders and captains in the club’s history, shared a few words on social media that served not only as encouragement but also as a warning.

Ramos reacts after the loss to Bayern

The defender played for Real Madrid for 16 seasons (2005-2021), leaving indelible moments in the memories and hearts of Madrid fans. Although he no longer wears the White jersey, he continues to maintain a special relationship with the club, and proof of this was his reaction to the Merengues’ elimination from the Champions League.

On his official Instagram account, Ramos shared a video in his stories featuring two of iconic plays and a clear message laden with symbolism: “Real Madrid always comes back… 15,” he wrote, referring to the number of trophies the club has won.

The first video features his memorable header goal scored at the Allianz Arena in that legendary 4-0 victory over Bayern in the 93rd minute in Lisbon, which secured the club’s 10th Champions League title.

The other clip shows the first of the two goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2-1 Champions League final of the 2016/17 season.

After his contract with Rayados de Monterrey expires on January 1, 2026, the defender is exploring the potential acquisition of Sevilla FC, seeking to become a majority shareholder of the club where he played from 2003 to 2005 and from 2023 to 2024. However, these words reflect the emotional bond he still maintains with the club.

This isn’t the first time Ramos has spoken along these lines, but this time, his message comes amid criticism and doubts surrounding the team, especially following recent results that have called into question the performance of the Whites, who could end the season without winning any titles.

The message Ramos conveys is clear: despite the difficult times, Real Madrid never gives up. Much more than words of faith, it’s a stark warning.

Following its recent elimination in the Champions League quarterfinals, Real Madrid will turn its focus to LaLiga, where it will host Deportivo Alavés at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday, April 21, at 3:30 PM ET. The team currently sits in second place in the standings, nine points behind Barcelona.
