Since she announced her retirement on September 2022, many tennis fans have dreamt about seeing the 23 Grand Slam winner returning to the courts to prove that she still has it. However, Serena Williams is in the middle of another challenge that collides with her potential comeback to tennis: Motherhood.
Just couple of hours ago, she shared on her X account what it is to be the mother of two “naughty” children, representing the feeling of many parents worldwide who see their energy being absorbed by their little demons.

The new life of Serena
Since her last game on the 2022 US Open, Serena William’s life has completely changed. Alongside her husband, Alexis Ohanian, they have built a family that has become Serena’s priority. Her two children, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr and Adira River Ohanian, have been the beautiful reason of her sacrifice, as she claims that she has not retired from tennis, she is just evolving.
However, many fans still want her to make a comeback for at least one more time. Even more now, as in early 2026, there have been some clues that could point to a potential return. Around the final stages of 2025, reports surfaced that Serena had re-entered the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) drug-testing pool, and now she has officially completed the mandatory six-month waiting period, making her eligible to compete in professional tournaments immediately.
She has also been seen training with Alycia Parks at some point, plus her former youth coach, Rick Macci, revealed to L’Equipe that he is “100% certain” she will return to both singles and doubles in the future.
Besides the noise of a potential last dance, Serena has been investing her time and efforts in the Serena Ventures, her firm that focuses on underrepresented founders, and in her clean makeup brand, WYN Beauty. In the sports spectrum, she also maintains a significant presence in some ownerships, with stakes in the Miami Dolphins and in the Angel City FC.
