The New England Patriots’ 2016 season got off to a rocky start due to the antics of Gronkowski and Julian Edelman during training camp.
However, they made a spectacular comeback and won the Super Bowl. Their initial excesses caused conflict and left a lasting impression on Bill Belichick, who did not forgive them but found his revenge in the best possible way.
Gronkowski and Edelman had an incredible time, but there was no happy ending
Julian and Rob stormed the island of Nantucket over Memorial Day weekend to unleash an epic celebration! Riding the wave of euphoria, the party got completely out of hand, fueled by Gronk‘s legendary partying style: an explosive mix of wild dancing and endless toasts.
In a chat on “Bussin with the Boys”, Rob recalled what caused everything to explode:
“We were in a golf cart in the back. Julian and I were doing our thing when the cart flew up in the air. The front wheels fell off, and we fell to the ground.”
The video quickly went viral and reached Bill, who was upset by the situation.
“Three days later, at team activities, Bill came up to us. We were sweating everywhere. He said, ‘Get all that shit off your body! I saw you two idiots this weekend. You’re fu***** morons,”Gronk recounted, describing Belichick‘s reaction firsthand.
Bill Belichick punished Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman by forcing them to run until all the alcohol was out of their systems.
It was a tremendous punishment that did not make them reflect at all. Gronk‘s personality has remained the same, and now, away from the fields and the spotlight, he is enjoying his life to the fullest.
