The Rams’ Kobie Turner is proving his talents extend far beyond the football field.
The Los Angeles defensive tackle turned heads this week after a viral video showed him swapping shoulder pads for a keyboard, delivering an impressive duet performance alongside singer Alisan Porter.
In the clip, shared to Instagram by Porter, the pair harmonize to Katy Perry‘s 2012 hit Wide Awake. Turner not only showcased smooth, powerful vocals, but also played the keyboard as Porter stood behind him. The duo even wore Rams helmets during the performance, playfully knocking them together at the end.
‘Voice of an angel’: NFL fans react
The performance quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans stunned by Turner’s musical ability.
“Aww, this is so sweet! He’s got some serious talent,” one fan wrote, while another joked that “Kobie’s voice could fund a Fortune 500 IPO!”
Some supporters even called for Turner to perform the national anthem at the Rams’ home opener next season.
The 26-year-old’s 2025 campaign ended in January when the Rams fell to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game. But rather than dwell on the loss, Turner has leaned into his offseason passions – and music has long been one of them.
From ‘The Masked Singer’ to viral sensation
This isn’t Turner’s first time impressing with a microphone in hand. In 2024, he competed on The Masked Singer, performing as “Goo” during Season 12. He advanced to the quarterfinals – the farthest any NFL player has gone on the show.
“It was really validating that this is something that I can do and that I hope is validating for everybody,” Turner told ESPN at the time.
“For anybody who’s trying to do both, if you just put in the sweat equity, you really go after it, that you can do both.
“And it was kind of a full circle moment because my whole life it’s been, ‘choose.’ Choose football or choose music … But to just truly be able to live in that authentic part of myself and to be able to bring the totality of who I am to the surface was truly special.”
If this latest viral performance is any indication, Turner may not have to choose after all.
