The behavior that some NFL players display off the field is often far removed from what they do on the gridiron. At times, it seems as though they feel untouchable and believe they can say or do whatever they want.
However, that is not the case. They must always serve as role models, as they represent institutions that generate social cohesion, which is why when they break the codes, they should be punished harshly.
Although it does happen, perhaps not with the efficiency required to set precedents that ensure players adopt better behavior away from the field. Unfortunately, it continues to be evident that this is not the case.
They assault women or use prohibited substances, and when an exemplary punishment would be expected, only mild measures are imposed. This comes up now because Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has once again been thrust into controversy over unusual actions.
Puka Nacua returns to the headlines for the wrong reasons
The receiver keeps getting himself into trouble. He enjoys being in the spotlight, and when it is for his outstanding performances, it is admirable. The problem arises when he says or does things that provoke outrage.
Now an issue has emerged involving a woman named Madison Kiabi, who filed a lawsuit accusing him of making antisemitic comments, in addition to biting her.
Based on this, presenter Craig Carton addressed the matter of Puka this Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He did not hesitate to strongly criticize the actions of the Rams receiver.
If you view that bite mark as non consensual, and in the same setting, Puka Nacua utters the phrase, ‘I hate all effing Jews,’ that bite now becomes a hate crime according to the law.”… “And if that’s the case, Puka Nacua is in trouble. He ain’t getting a $120 million guaranteed.
Carton said on his show, and added.
If you uttered the words, ‘I hate all effing Jews,’ and there’s a witness to it, and you bit the witness, you got yourself a problem. Now, can you have a career? Yes you can. Can a team hire you? Yes, they can. Will the NFL suspend you? Maybe, maybe not. They may not get involved at all. But he’s also a dingbat. He’s a dumb jock. That’s all he is, and now he might me anti-semitic too.
According to what is stated in the lawsuit, in addition to the antisemitic comments allegedly made by the player, which made the woman feel uncomfortable, he also bit her on the neck and her friend on the finger while they were in a car.
This occurred on New Year’s Eve in Century City, as detailed in the filing presented by the plaintiff in that case, according to the official complaint records.
