Paige Spiranac couldn’t hide her sympathy after watching Tommy Fleetwood’s dreams of a first PGA Tour victory slip away in gut-wrenching fashion at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
“You really have to feel for Fleetwood at this point. Brutal,” Spiranac posted on X (formerly Twitter) after the Englishman’s late bogey on the 17th hole cost him the title.
Fleetwood, who led after 54 holes, endured a shaky start to Sunday’s final round with an opening bogey but fought back with birdies on the 12th, 13th, and 15th to reclaim contention. Then disaster struck – a costly bogey on the penultimate hole dropped him to 15-under, tying him for third with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
The tournament ended with Justin Rose edging J.J. Spaun in a playoff to claim the $3.6 million prize and 2,000 FedEx Cup points, leaving Fleetwood once again agonizingly short of a breakthrough win.

While reflecting on Fleetwood’s heartbreak, Spiranac also turned heads off the course. She shared a series of all-white golf outfit photos on Instagram with the caption, “Afternoon or morning round of golf,” posing lakeside with a club in hand.
The former pro-turned-influencer has been candid about her own struggles with competitive golf. In a recent video, she admitted that intense “golf course anxiety” was one of the main reasons she stepped away from the pro circuit.
“I have a really toxic love-hate relationship with the game,” she explained. “It’s addictive, but when you have a bad round, you feel like the most worthless human being ever. I love golf so much, but sometimes I just can’t break through. It eats at me, and I know so many others can relate.”
