The highprofile Paige Bueckers wanted to put an end to the rumors about her personal relationship with Azzi Fudd, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft and her new teammate on the Dallas Wings.

“Frankly, I think the personal relationship between Azzi and me is our business. And what we choose to share is completely up to us,” said the highprofile Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 Draft, during the Dallas Wings’ media day.

Paige Bueckers, who shared a locker room with Azzi Fudd at UConn in the NCAA, emphasized that “we’ve never allowed anything that happens off the court to affect what happens on the court, and that’s what we’ll continue to do.”

Fudd and Bueckers made their romantic relationship public last summer after being teammates at UConn for four seasons.

The Dallas Wings star clarified that she had nothing to do with the team’s decision to select Fudd with the first pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Bueckers made it clear that she has no intention of revisiting the topic of her relationship with Azzi Fudd this season: “There’s something I want to address, and I only plan to do it once. If people keep asking us about it, we’ll point back to this moment or use the opportunity to shift the conversation and talk about our teammates.”

Last season, Paige Bueckers – who was named WNBA Rookie of the Year – averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals.
