The Wings face Indiana Fever at home, an important matchup for the Texas team, as they need to earn points if they want to stay in the playoff hunt. In that sense, the feeling is positive in Dallas, as one of their key players, Paige Bueckers, is confident in having a teammate with whom she shares a special bond.

Bueckers’ record has been phenomenal. After the game against Atlanta, she set a new record for a rookie with the most games, with 20+ points and 5+ assists, surpassing players like Caitlin Clark. Now, the promising rookie will face Clark’s team on August 1.

Maddy Siegrist returns to boost Paige Bueckers

After missing the last 17 games, forward Maddy Siegrist will be available to play Friday against the Indiana Fever. She was sidelined for over a month due to a fractured right knee. In her 11 games this season, Siegrist averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Siegrist and Bueckers share a special bond. The two were fierce rivals. However, they have transformed that rivalry into impeccable chemistry. As Siegrist said, “It’s better to play with her than against her. But obviously, she’s a great teammate; not only is she a great player, but she also makes the teammates around her better,” she said.

Dallas Wings waive Grace Berger

The Los Angeles Sparks signed guard Grace Berger to a hardship contract on Tuesday for the remainder of the season. The signing comes after the Sparks ruled out star point guard Kelsey Plum for Tuesday’s game against the visiting Seattle Storm due to a lower leg injury.

Berger was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 draft by the Indiana Fever. In two seasons with the team, she averaged 3.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 47 games. Berger, 26, played for Ormanspor of Turkey after the 2024 WNBA season and averaged 13.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
