There were many boxers who had an outstanding 2024, but perhaps no one cemented their legacy quite like Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian didn’t have a ton left to prove after successive wins over Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. But that didn’t stop him from becoming the true heavyweight king.
Usyk beat Tyson Fury twice, by split decision the first time around and then with a more dominating unanimous decision in the rematch. Both wins had Usyk entering conversation for the pound-for-pound crown. Now 38 years old, Usyk isn’t slowing down by any means, but he has mentioned he only has one or two big fights left.
One of those potential fights mentioned has been a rematch with Dubois, who has been on a tear since his loss to Usyk. Dubois has knocked out Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Joshua since then.

While Usyk can go in any direction with his choice, a bout against Dubois is already in the works according to Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk. What has piqued fans’ interest even more is the venue being discussed: Wembley Stadium.
Usyk has never fought at Wembley, although he did feature in three events in England. He fought Tony Bellew at Manchester Arena, Chisora at The SSE Arena and Joshua at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Dubois just fought Joshua at Wembley in September, so he’s used to the venue.
