The Miami Open always gives us treats and moments that last forever. In this case, the moment took place during Frances Tiafoe’s second-round clash at Hard Rock Stadium this past Saturday, when a few dissenting voices in the crowd caught the ear of someone very close to the action.
Ayan Broomfield, the longtime girlfriend of the former World No. 10, took to social media to jokingly express her disapproval of fans backing Tiafoe’s opponent, and she did not hold back on the humor.
A house divided at Hard Rock Stadium
On March 21, 2026, Tiafoe took to the Butch Buchholz court to face off against France’s Arthur Cazaux. While “Big Foe” eventually secured a commanding 7-6(1), 6-1 victory, the match did not finish without controversies. Despite being the clear favorite on American soil, a segment of the Miami crowd began throwing their support toward Cazaux, hoping to see the Frenchman push the contest to a third set, which Broomfield did not like.
She, a former standout college tennis player herself, was watching from the player box. Not one to let those cheerings slide, she later posted a Reel on Instagram to address the situation.
“Get ‘Em Banned”
In the video, Broomfield used a popular trending audio from former Peloton instructor Kendall Toole. The clip features Toole reacting to an offensive username during a live class, but Broomfield repurposed it to fit the high-stakes world of tennis fandom.
While the “ban” was clearly a joke, the feeling resonated with fans who know just how protective Broomfield is of Tiafoe. The two have been a constant presence in the tennis world since 2015, with Broomfield frequently balancing her own ventures in fashion and business with her role as Tiafoe’s most vocal supporter.
