The New York Giants shocked the NFL earlier this month when they handed the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, a 34-17 loss. That upset flipped the NFC East conversation on its head, but New York couldn’t keep the momentum rolling, falling 33-32 to the Denver Broncos a week later.
As the Giants prepare to face the Eagles again this Sunday, the rematch carries extra heat. Former Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles isn’t letting that earlier loss slide. On The SZN Podcast, he sent a pointed message to New York’s rookie duo, Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo.
I’d just like to welcome Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo to the Linc…Welcome to Philly! Good luck!
Foles, who spent more than a decade in midnight green, made it clear he expects a very different version of the Eagles this time. “Green all the way,” he added. “Eagles minus seven, let’s go! Let’s show that Thursday Night Football was just a little fluke.”
Dart embraces the chaos as Philly fans prepare for payback
The rookie quarterback has been a bright spot for New York’s offense and isn’t shying away from the pressure of his first start at Lincoln Financial Field. Dart compared the atmosphere to “an SEC rivalry,” saying he can’t wait to “feel the hostility in the air.” It is a telling mindset for a 21-year-old stepping into one of football’s most unforgiving environments.
The Eagles, sitting at 5-2 after a bounce-back win over the Vikings, are heavy favorites for a reason. Their offense looks sharper, and their defense has been itching to make a statement after being embarrassed in Week 5. Philadelphia players have echoed Foles’ sentiment throughout the week, calling the earlier loss “unfinished business.”
Skattebo, meanwhile, has taken on a bigger role in the Giants’ offense after back-to-back 100-yard performances. If New York wants another miracle, it will depend on whether Dart and Skattebo can silence 70,000 fans and the most aggressive defensive front in football.
