The Kansas City Chiefs are not having their best season, and it’s no secret. In their last two games, they not only ended up losing, but they were also eliminated from the playoffs and lost two of their quarterbacks.

Even with their Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and their turbulent start to the season, fans knew something wasn’t right. Now, after the team’s recent setbacks, they claim there is a ‘curse‘ on the Chiefs.

Fans react to the Chiefs’ ‘brutal luck’

Late last week, Kansas City’s game against the Chargers not only resulted in a tough 13-16 loss for Andy Reid’s team, but also officially knocked them out of playoff contention for the first time since 2014. They also lost their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in the final two minutes of the game.

Now, during the 26-9 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the starting QB was Gardner Minshew. However, in the second quarter, he had to leave the game: he suffered the same injury as Mahomes (ACL), according to Adam Schefter and Matt Derrick.

Faced with this situation, NFL and Chiefs fans did not hesitate to express their confusion and tried to find an explanation for their luck:

This is getting ridiculous. ACL is contagious,” said one of them.

Two QBs, two games. Brutal luck, KC,” commented another.

This is back times three. You gotta leave witchcraft alone sometimes,” wrote one fan.

Boy, this black magic wearing off is WILD,” said another.

Alright. Which one of you put a curse on the Chiefs?” asked another user.

The truth is that, if the severity of Minshew’s injury is confirmed, he could be out of action for at least nine months, just like Patrick, although Gardner only has a one-year contract.

Meanwhile, Chris Oladokun replaced Minshew and is likely to continue as starting quarterback this Friday, December 26, when they host the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, and on Sunday, January 4, when they close out the season at Allegiant Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders.
