The “fight of the century“, at least according to Turki Alalshikh, is approaching. In just a couple of days, Canelo Alvarez will step into the ring with one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in recent times, Terence Crawford. Although the bout is dangerous for both fighters, there’s a clear favorite.
Alvarez is portended to come out victorious, simply due to Crawford having to make a big move-up in weight for the fight. But “Bud” deserves the benefit of the doubt due to his incredible career and fighting style. Despite so much going for Crawford, on paper he just doesn’t seem to have much of a chance, especially in the eyes of Mike Tyson.
Mike Tyson says Terence Crawford doesn’t stand a chance against Canelo Alvarez
“Iron Mike“, who has kept somewhat of a low profile since fighting Jake Paul last year, gave his prediction for the Canelo-Crawford fight while speaking to rapper Fat Joe at a Hard Rock Bet VIP event in Florida.
Oh, that’s gonna be interesting because I would like to see Crawford do it. I can’t see, listen, on paper he doesn’t stand a chance. It has to be some kind of miracle, something happen, cause he can’t run from Canelo. Canelo is fast, I don’t know, Canelo’s still out. He’s not really out of his peak, he’s still good. He’s not washed up.
Tyson admits he wants Crawford to win, or at least draw: “I don’t want him to lose“. A draw is very much in the realm of possibility. A victory seems more far-fetched at this point, but truly anything can happen with an elite fighter like Crawford in the ring.
But the fact that one of the best boxers ever in Tyson believes Crawford has practically no chance, should be a big warning sign for Bud and his fans. The odds are stacked against him and everyone knows it.
