Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, one of the best duos in the NFL, absolutely loved the gifts they got for Father’s Day from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Entering the 2025 regular season, Godwin will continue his historical run with future Hall of Fame teammate, Mike Evans. Since the two joined forces in Tampa Bay’s in 2017, the pair have formed one of the most formidable receiver tandems in the league.

Few duos have achieved what Godwin and Evans have produced for the Bucs. They rank fifth all time in receiving yards by a receiver duo and 6th all-time in receiving touchdowns by a receiver duo. Both players were one of the major reasons why Tampa Bay beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, lead by Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time.

Evans and Godwin go wild after getting surprised

Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were surprised by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a great surprise: a pair of Nike Air Monarchs, considered the ultimate dad shoe. The former has four children and the latter welcomed his first child ths year.

“New shoes, I always love a Nike box,” Mike said. Chris laughed when he opened the box and realized that he got gifted sombre brand new Monarchs. “Now, I heard these are comfy, for real!” he added. “I’ll rock them, too!” Evans stated. “I’ll for sure rock these, I’m going to go full dad mode!” Godwin replied. Both receivers tried the sneakers for the first time and they absolutely loved the surprise.

The Nike Air Monarch often becomes a lot of father’s only shoe-practical, thrifty, unassuming, and hopelessly uncool-like. Jason Mayden, designer of the modern Monarch, talked with Nice Kicks about how he made the shoe. “The Monarch II hit all of the factors that men really loved from the comfort, to the width, to the colors, to the materials, to the price point. It was like, that was it, we nailed it – we had the Sunday shopper’s most favorite shoe.”

Tampa Bay is expecting a lot of offense from their WR duo

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2024 season came to an end after losing to the Washington Commanders 23-20, in one of the best games of the Wild Card Round during last year. Quarterback Baker Mayfield wants to make a deep run this season, and he and the team expect to get a lot of production from Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Originally a third-round draft pick out of Penn State in 2017, Godwin ranks second in franchise history in most receiving categories, including receptions (579), receiving yards (7,266) and touchdown catches (39).

The only player ahead of him on those esteemed lists is Evans, who is the Bucs’ franchise points scored leader, franchise receptions leader, franchise receiving yards leader and receiving touchdowns leader. Mike is the only player in NFL history with 1,000-plus receiving yards in each of his first 11 seasons and together, along with Godwin, the pair strike fear in opposing defenses.
