History was made yesterday, Monday, February 10, as McDonald’s unveiled the Angel ReeseSpecial, celebrating the WNBA star’s rise to fame. The Chicago Sky forward and runner-up for 2024 Rookie of the Year is now the first female athlete to have her own McDonald’s meal-an achievement as bold as the BBQ sauce topping her custom Quarter Pounder.
This milestone meal comes just as Reese juggles her WNBA career and her stint with the Rose Basketball Club in the new three-on-three Unrivaled league. Reese couldn’t hide her excitement about the partnership, calling it a full-circle moment.
“McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All-American in 2020,” Reese shared in the announcement.
A gamechanger sauce
“It’s a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on their dreams,” said the Sky forward.
So, what’s in the Angel Reese Special? It’s a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon, onions, pickles, and a new bold Smoky BBQ Sauce that McDonald’s calls a “gamechanger,” blending sweet, savory, and spicy flavors.
It’s paired with a side of crispy French fries and a Hi-C Orange Lavaburst (or a soft drink of your choice). The meal is available for a limited time both in stores and on the McDonald’s app, with pricing varying by location.
Between basketball and burgers
Reese’s fans have already been flocking to McDonald’s to grab the special and cheer her on in the Unrivaled league, where her presence continues to draw massive attention-even if her game has yet to reach its peak in the fast-paced three-on-three format.
Between basketball and burgers, Angel Reese is proving she’s a true powerhouse both on and off the court. But hurry-this slam-dunk of a meal won’t last forever!
