Many things have changed within the Las Vegas Raiders since the end of the last NFL season, from the arrival of General ManagerJohn Spytek to Pete Carroll joining during this offseason with the sole goal of transforming the team’s culture and turning it into a winning franchise. Under this scenario, Tom Brady has also taken on a significant role as a minority co-owner following a dismal four-win record in 2024.

These may seem like small steps to many, but in reality, they are monumental. The moves also led to the arrival of veteran quarterback Geno Smith, along with key players like pass rusher Malcolm Koonce and defensive tackle Adam Butler.

Now, after a strong NFL Draft, it’s time to consider that the 2025 campaign could be different, with Maxx Crosby confident that everything is about to change.

Maxx Crosby uses the Oklahoma City Thunder as an example

After signing a three-year, $106.5 million contract, Maxx Crosby genuinely believes the expectations could become reality, serving as a warning to the entire NFL.

“Individual success and things like that are awesome, but it’s not why you play the game. You play to win,” Crosby said during the Sack Summit. “We just saw it in the NBA: OKC, just a couple of years ago, was one of the worst teams in the league. But they had a lot of young guys, they trusted the process, they developed, and now they’re the world champions.”

There’s no doubt these are lofty expectations for a Las Vegas team that won only four games in 2024 and had the worst rushing offense in the league. However, the team’s best player continues to emphasize the desire to change the existing dynamic.

“We’re trying to win. I want to win so badly. I put everything into it,” Crosby said. “I want everybody else to think like that. And that’s been my goal, just bringing as many guys along as I possibly can.”

There’s something to learn from Tom Brady, who closely monitors every step the franchise takes. The truth is, the Raiders will need more than just the words of their best player-they also want to see him perform at the highest level, as his performance dipped in 2024 after suffering an injury.
